Day 11. On wild camping and late hh-ing

So yesterday I spent 8 euros on the most disgusting supper but got a ride to Biarritz from a KFC worker :) He was a young aspiring soccer player and of course reacted to Pologne with Lewandowski!!! ;-)
So a backpacker got to a very posh place, ran to the sea and after an hour started to think about a hostel. Some people told me the directions but I couldn't find it. But I got enchanted by Andrea's story about wild camping and wanted to try it. So I tell you that wild camping at the steep hill with a tree and bushes at the hotel parking is a bad idea :) I didn't like the idea someone could see me going there. The leaves were making lots of noise and with a hill steep like that you cannot really sleep or rest. After 2 hrs of this delight I crawled out :D and found a beautiful grove. The wild camping is about hiding yourself and I wasn't really hidden, though. But then the phone rings and an efficient wild camper has a host ;) The only thing I gained on the hill was a dirt in my cosmetics :P
So my hosts, Thibeaud... Ok, as I was kindly told, it is actually spelled Thibault :/ ;) and his family were really hospitable and nice. Today I walked through Biarritz, took a bath in the sea and went to the railway station in Bayonne. The prices were absolutely outrageous but I met Andrea at the station :) Anyway, I am heading north now. Slept too long, as usual and the only ride I could get was to Nantes. So it's Nantes now. Actually, I could get a ride all the way to Paris, but the guy was straaaaange. Rule number 13 says never accept a ride from people you don't trust. Or who don't want you to send their license plate photo to your friends. Actually I got to Nantes hotel, asked nicely if I could recharge my phone, bought a coffee to become a customer, asked even more nicely if I could use Wi-Fi and found my first couch surfing host who picked me by a motorbike :)

So I am giving up the plan. That's a bit sad and I even had a Porto sign ready... But I didn't realize I would be progressing so slowly and also I am exceeding my vacation budget. And then I couldn't get the ride to San Sebastian cause I picked the place with local traffic only... But I have got new ideas, met new people and thought a bit about my life.
Pictures: Biarritz, more Biarritz and some of Biarritz, my breakfast in Bia... , smelly cheeses I did NOT buy, my host and his cat if she agrees to pose for a picture. She disappeared so no pic of the cat. Ok, got one but not H
